China has made a technological breakthrough in satellite-to-Earth laser communications, setting a data transfer rate record of 100 Gbps — 10 times faster than the previous record. Chang Guang Satellite Technology, which operates the world’s largest commercial satellite constellation, Jilin-1, conducted the test using a mobile ground station.
