The app is currently only available in the Philippines and is not available on the US App Store. Google is apparently testing in a few countries before rolling out the service more widely. In terms of functionality, Gemini in the application is not inferior to gemini.google.com.

A standalone Gemini app will offer iPhone users a more seamless way to interact with the Google Assistant. However, it’s unclear whether it will ultimately replace the existing Google app integration or whether both options will work. In the spring, it was reported that Apple planned to integrate Google’s Gemini chatbot into the iPhone to perform some generative artificial intelligence tasks. It was assumed that Gemini would work with the release of the iOS 18 update.
