What happens online in just one minute?
The annual Data Never Sleeps report by Domo is back, reminding us just how intense our digital lives have become. https://preview.redd.it/cc2mewy0p69e1.jpg?width=1168&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10bdbb9de5db41d152a981d5a9c507ef9b0667af Every year, the world is astonished by the staggering volume of activity happening online in just one minute – and the numbers keep climbing. Here are just a few highlights: TikTok: 16,000 videos are uploaded every minute. Instagram and Facebook: 138.9 million Reels are scrolled through in 60 seconds. Google: 5.9 million searches – down 6% from last year. YouTube: 3.47 million videos are watched every minute. Email: Still going strong with 251.1 million emails sent in just one minute. These mind-blowing stats mirror the era we live in, where attention is the most scarce resource. Interestingly, the data shows that even tech giants like Google are feeling the pressure as generative AI rises. Tools like ChatGPT and other AI solutions are steadily drawing users away from traditional search engines. submitted by /u/FXgram_ [link] [comments]

Nvidia Becomes Most Traded Stock of 2024. In 2024, retail investors poured a record $30 billion into Nvidia shares, according to CNBC, citing data from Vanda Research. This made Nvidia the most popular stock among retail traders by net purchases this year.
For comparison, investments in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, which tracks the broad U.S. stock market benchmark, were almost half the amount directed toward Nvidia. The company is also on track to dethrone Tesla, the previous favorite of retail investors. Nvidia’s impressive stock growth has drawn traders’ attention away from Tesla. “Nvidia has shifted focus away from Tesla thanks to its remarkable price performance. The results speak for themselves,” said Marco Iachini, Senior Vice President at Vanda Research. Net inflows into Nvidia shares have grown ninefold compared to 2021, reflecting retail investors’ confidence in the company and its future prospects. submitted by /u/glira31 [link] [comments]

In case someone was wondering why German carmakers are in trouble. Their business model was based on sales in China subsidizing antiquated, overblown, unions protected cost structure at home. Now China builds its own decent cars. Good luck folks.

TKL: US existing home sales are set to close at 4.04 million in 2024, marking the worst year since 1995.
Sales are set to be even lower than during the 2008 Financial Crisis. The lack of demand for existing homes comes as home prices have jumped over 50% since 2020. Over the same time period, mortgage rates have nearly TRIPLED, making affordability even worse. The average rate on a 30-year mortgage is up 100 basis points since September alone, to 7.1%, despite the Fed cutting rates by 100 basis points. The US housing market is frozen. submitted by /u/XGramatik [link] [comments]

“Is Belarus on the Brink of Chaos? The US and the West Are Preparing a Regime Change – Insider Information from Russian Media”
Russian media reports that mass protests in Belarus are being planned for January 24-25, with the activation of so-called “sleeper cells” that could escalate into widespread unrest. The U.S. State Department has allegedly urged American citizens to leave Belarus, citing risks of protests and detentions, while advising against attending mass gatherings or engaging on social media. Training camps for activists, reportedly hosting 3,000 individuals, are said to be operating in Poland, with a total preparation budget of $380 million. Coordination centers in Poland and Lithuania are allegedly managing the operation, supported by 14,000 bots spreading information online. The operation, codenamed “Aurora Switch,” is rumored to be planned for early 2025, following Belarus’s presidential elections on January 26, where Alexander Lukashenko’s expected victory might trigger protests. Without support from Moscow, analysts suggest Lukashenko could face a scenario similar to Bashar al-Assad’s, with protests potentially escalating into an armed conflict. submitted by /u/glira31 [link] [comments]
