NASA's Perseverance rover has successfully completed its ascent to the rim of Jezero Crater and returned to Earth an impressive panorama of Mars. It took 3.5 months to rise.

The rover drove 500 meters at a 20% incline. This mission explores fundamentally new geology. The rocks the rover will collect could be fragments of early Martian crust and the oldest rock discovered in the solar system.
