TKL: This is wild – MicroStrategy’s (MSTR) daily average options volume has reached a record ~650,000 contracts. This marks a +1,000% increase over the last few weeks.

The vast majority of this volume has been in call options as retail investors have bet on the rise in the MSTR stock price. MicroStrategy is already considered to be a levered play on Bitcoin, a highly volatile asset. Through options, traders are effectively taking on even more risk on a levered risky asset. Has risk appetite ever been stronger? submitted by /u/XGramatik [link] [comments]

Market Cap Titans of 2024: Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia’s Trillion-Dollar Showdown

In 2024, Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia vied for supremacy in the trillion-dollar market capitalization club. Apple, the first U.S. company to reach a $1 trillion valuation in 2018, briefly hit $3 trillion in January 2022. Microsoft followed, reaching $3 trillion in January 2024. Nvidia’s rise was extraordinary, starting from $360 billion in 2022 to surpass $1 trillion in May 2023, $2 trillion by March 2024, and $3 trillion by June 2024. By October 2024, Nvidia overtook Microsoft and challenged Apple’s long-held leadership. From U.S. presidential election day in November 5 to November 22, Nvidia outpaced Apple. Since 23 November, Nvidia lag the Apple and from 13 December to 19 December, remained behind Microsoft. In December 20, 2022, Apple $3.85 trillion market cap far behind Nvidia with $3.30 trillion and Microsoft with $3.25 trillion. https://preview.redd.it/b831oo81ol8e1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=d01e98f6055ffbae6305340d2a83f6289554ad66 submitted by /u/Pllover12 [link] [comments]

Let’s sum it up, shall we?

Bitcoin – minus 7% a week. S&P 500 – crashing, a solid 2% drop. Dow – on a 10-day losing streak, something we haven’t seen in 50 years. But hey, all this is happening near all-time highs. There was a meme going around – Jerome just fcked* 8 billion people at once: the Fed cut rates by 0.25% – the third cut in a row. Cut too fast – inflation jumps. Cut too slow – unemployment spikes. Which chair are you picking? Oh, and there’s another debt ceiling breach coming… but we’re not worried about that already. https://preview.redd.it/czm3vvzhzk8e1.jpg?width=617&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8865ce3ef12999c4db9c95dcab97164a8cbf27d9 submitted by /u/FXgram_ [link] [comments]

Cathie Wood: government spending is IS TAXATION IN DISGUISE

Founder and CEO of Ark Invest, Cathie Wood: “Since the election, our funds have outpaced the market, including the Mag7. The market sees this administration supporting innovation, productivity, deregulation, tax incentives, and rate cuts—all boosting economic growth. Government spending is taxation in disguise, whether through higher taxes or inflation. Increased efficiency in government will reduce tax hikes and leave more for the private sector.” submitted by /u/XGramatik [link] [comments]
