Eye-opening chart. Doesn’t Europe deserve better? Can we please have our Milei and Department of Government Efficiency? Or is Europe really lost with green socialists who have never worked a single day in their lives, but seriously think that they can lead us?

Everything that just happened in South Korea is utter nonsense with zero impact on financial markets. It’s the usual noise for this country. If you knew its history, you’d understand: nearly every president has been killed, jailed, or executed – except the last two (for now).
Syngman Rhee (1948–1960) – Overthrown during mass protests, exiled to Hawaii. Yun Bo-seon (1960–1962) – Resigned after Park Chung-hee’s coup. Park Chung-hee (1962–1979) – Assassinated by his intelligence chief. Choi Kyu-hah (1979–1980) – Removed by a military coup. Chun Doo-hwan (1981–1988) – Sentenced to death post-presidency, later pardoned. Roh Tae-woo (1988–1993) – Sentenced to 22 years for corruption, also pardoned later. Kim Young-sam (1993–1998) – Placed under house arrest during Park’s regime; as president, prosecuted two predecessors. Kim Dae-jung (1998–2003) – Imprisoned under Park, sentenced to death under Chun, later pardoned; Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Roh Moo-hyun (2003–2008) – Impeached (overturned by court), investigated for corruption post-presidency, committed suicide. Lee Myung-bak (2008–2013) – Jailed for corruption post-presidency, sentenced to 15 years. Park Geun-hye (2013–2016) – Impeached, imprisoned for corruption, sentenced to 24 years. Moon Jae-in (2017–2022) – So far, no legal issues post-presidency. Yoon Suk-yeol (2022–present) – Impeachment rumored, no actions yet. submitted by /u/XGramatik [link] [comments]

BRICS Pay Turns Out to Be a Massive Hoax or Even Fraud by Certain Cryptocurrency Projects. Fraudsters “Sold” a Fake to Numerous Media Outlets for Their Own Benefit, Causing Further Reputational Damage to BRICS as a Whole and Russia in Particular
The supposed BRICS Pay cross-border payment system, widely reported in October 2024, has turned out to be either a massive deception or a deliberate scam orchestrated by certain cryptocurrency projects. Fraudsters manipulated numerous media outlets, propagating fake information to serve their own interests, causing reputational damage to BRICS as a whole and to Russia in particular. At the BRICS Business Forum in Moscow, preceding the Kazan summit, news surfaced about the launch of BRICS Pay, allegedly endorsed by the bloc’s member countries. Reports claimed a pilot project had begun in China, and the “official” BRICS Pay website stated that central bank officials from BRICS nations had confirmed its rollout, with pilot phases completed in 28 Chinese regions. However, an investigation by China’s respected Caixin Global revealed these claims to be baseless. Chinese government representatives stated they had no knowledge of BRICS Pay, and no such pilot projects existed. This strongly indicates the story was fabricated, likely to promote specific cryptocurrency ventures. While the Kazan Declaration referenced an “initiative for cross-border payments,” there was no mention of BRICS Pay specifically, nor has there been since. Instead, BRICS finance ministers and central bank heads were tasked with exploring cooperation on national currencies, payment instruments, and platforms, with a report due at the next meeting. This incident underscores the need for greater scrutiny of unverified claims in global finance. submitted by /u/XGramatik [link] [comments]
