US paid $861 billion in debt interest over the last 12 months. That’s just what the Treasury reported. Add $100 billion in Fed handouts to banks, and we’re looking at a staggering $962 billion in interest costs. Wake up – this is the new normal.

So, tomorrow we’ll see if Nvidia keeps defying gravity or if the hype finally meets reality. When your stock goes up 1000%, you’re not a company anymore – you’re a religion. But even gods can fall, and when Nvidia stumbles, the whole market’s going to feel it.

When it comes to profits, NVDA now makes up a whopping 6.6% of the S&P 500 index. Since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, that share has grown FIVEFOLD. For comparison: before ChatGPT, Nvidia’s market cap was $290 billion, and now the company is valued at $3.1 trillion, just $200 billion shy of its peak in July. Since the release of ChatGPT, the stock has surged by more than 1000%. Tomorrow, Nvidia’s quarterly revenue is expected to grow by 112% compared to the same period last year, reaching $28.7 billion. submitted by /u/FXgram_ [link] [comments]
Powell didn’t “re-strike” anything. The Fed Put was always there, just hiding under layers of jargon and wishful thinking. If you think the “Everything Rally” is greenlit, better brace yourself—because when the party ends, it won’t just be the lights going out, it’ll be the whole damn grid.

The equal-weighted S&P 500 just hit a new all-time high. With small-cap stocks recovering and large-cap tech stocks retreating, the markets have become less reliant on tech. The fall is going to hurt like hell!

Quotes from Alice in Wonderland, the meaning of which becomes clear only with age
“I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.” “You can always take more than nothing.” “Contrariwise,..’if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn’t, it ain’t. That’s logic.” “My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.” “If everybody minded their own business, the world would go around a great deal faster than it does.” It sounded an excellent plan, no doubt, and very neatly and simply arranged; the only difficulty was, that she had not the smallest idea how to set about it. “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.” “I don’t much care where –” “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.” submitted by /u/FXgram_ [link] [comments]

Russia to Begin Trials of Crypto Payments and Exchanges on September 1—Will They Use XRP?
Russia is set to start a trial for cross-border payments in digital tokens in September to ease the pain of crippling sanctions, sources tell Bloomberg. Only a scalable blockchain network with low fees and real-time transactions can serve the country, which has over 144 million residents, making XRP one of the best candidates for the role. Since the conflict with Ukraine started, Russia has become the world’s most sanctioned nation. For months, the government has relied on short-term fixes, which have helped prop up the ruble and keep the financial system afloat. However, the weight of global isolation is catching up with Russia, and sources now say that the government is exploring crypto. According to sources who spoke to Bloomberg, Russia intends to start the trial on Sunday. It will rely on its National Payment Card System to facilitate the swap between the country’s ruble and crypto tokens. The system underpins the country’s interbank payment systems and the Mir, the national card payment network. According to the two sources, the government picked the system as it already contains instant payments and features like interbank clearing, making it easier to integrate with all existing financial rails. The system is also operated and regulated by the central bank, giving the government added confidence. submitted by /u/Ankle_be [link] [comments]
